Classroom Behavior

After creating anchor charts with my class, I created these mini anchor charts to post around the room.  They are like a 2nd teacher with in the classroom.

Pete The Cat, I Love My White Shoes

Started the year off with "Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes",
this is a great book to teach colors, cause and effect and sequence.

We created this Anchor Chart for story retelling the story.

Students created their own "Pete the Cat", from shapes.  They each colored their shoes to represent their favorite color.

We matched colors and talked about cause and effect.

If Pete stepped in grapes what color would his shoes be?
If Pete stepped in bubble gum what color would his shoes be?
etc. . .

I used this 3-D Pete to test for color recognition.
Students feed Pete the shoes as they told me the colors.
What a fun and engaging way to assess color recognition. in
