I Spy Zoo Animals

To go along with out zoo theme, I created a Zoo I Spy bottle.  The kiddos used the I spy card to determine what animals to look for.   Once they found the animal they crossed it off with a whiteboard marker and look for another animal.  Grab your copy of the I spy card here.

I found most of the animals at Michaels in the kids section and the beads Polly Pellets which can be found at Michaels, JoAnn's and on Amazon.

Safari Jeep

I I love, love, love Pinterest , my brain is always thinking of new ideas, I love to be crafty.  However sometimes I'm not sure just how to execute my ideas and Pinterest is my lifesaver in that area.
We are learning about zoo animals and I had this big box that was taking up space in my garage, so I thought how cool would it be to make a safari jeep for the kiddos to go on safari.  While searching on how to create this jeep I found the cutest idea for safari hats, on Growing Book by Book.

I can't believe how cute the jeep turned out.  The kids where so excited to go looking for animals!

The kids wore their safari hats and use binoculars to hunt down the hidden animals in the classroom.

They had such a great time:)

Ring George the Giraffe

My co-teacher created a game for our kiddos' "Ring George the Giraffe". The kids where given two hula hoops to throw in hope of catching George the wild giraffe.  This game was a perfect way to collect some "Teaching Strategies Gold" documentation.

Objectives covered where demonstrates gross motor movement (throwing) and balances needs of self and others.

The kids loved it and it was a perfect inside game, due to the fact that we could not go outside today because they are finally planting grass.  I am so excited to have grass instead of mounds of dirt.

No Sew Diapers

My co-teacher turned out dramatic play center into a nursery for zoo animals.  She did such an amazing job:).
To help make it more realistic I made no sew diapers!   I can't believe how easy these where and the best part was I did not have to pull out the sewing machine, which took the anxiety of sewing down to a zero.

First, I created a pattern, and cut out my diapers (I used fleece, it does not fray when cut)

Next, I used liquid stitch to glue Velcro tabs on.

Tadaaaa no sew diapers my kiddos thought they where amazing.
