Bat vocabulary

It was so fun to hear them use these words and to know what 

the meaning of each word was. 

We created two different bat anchor charts!

The first we labled a bat and the second we did a tree map 

about bats. 

The kiddo's created their own bat using pre-cut materials and cup cake papers. I got this idea 

from another blogger at IHeart Crafty Things.

I dyed bow tie noodles three different colors orange, purple and black.  I put them in the sandtable for the kiddo's to sort by color. 

Cozy Corner or Calm Down Area

I created this cozy corner out of a dishwaher box, for our students to go and have a place to be alone or when needed to calm down.

In side the box I put this poster of Finding Dory, I felt it was not only calming but that the kids would enjoy looking at it. 

I also put two pillows and a bucket of things for them to do, if they need the time to calm down.  

On the out side of the box are different cards with strategies to help them calm down. 

Yellow Submarine

It is Ocean Time in our Pre-K classroom and what better way to explore the ocean then in a "Yellow Submarine?"  The kids loved the Safari Jeep so much that I just had to make this not so little beauty, for them to explore in.  

Students explore the classroom by swimming around to discover the different types of sea life there is!

We turned the dramatic play center into a Coral Reef!

Pick a Carrot

I found this cute idea on Pinterest from Mrs. Jones creation station and adapted it to fit the needs of my kiddos.

I found the carrots and Michaels during Easter time.  Filled them with letter beads and dried black beans.  I then super glued them shut.  Each carrot has 5 letters for the kids to look for.

As they find the letters they can either cross it off with dry erase markers or I created a sheet where they can color the carrot. 

Each carrot has a number in the top that matches the number on the paper, this way they know what they are looking for:) 

Safari Jeep

I I love, love, love Pinterest , my brain is always thinking of new ideas, I love to be crafty.  However sometimes I'm not sure just how to execute my ideas and Pinterest is my lifesaver in that area.  

We are learning about zoo animals and I had this big box that was taking up space in my garage, so I thought how cool would it be to make a safari jeep for the kiddos to go on safari.  While searching on how to create this jeep I found the cutest idea for safari hats, on Growing Book by Book.

I can't believe how cute the jeep turned out.  The kids where so excited to go looking for animals!   

The kids wore their safari hats and use binoculars to hunt down the hidden animals in the classroom. 

They had such a great time:)
